Suspect sought in sandwich store robbery

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a restaurant in Salt Lake City Friday night.

Police said a man walked into a Subway restaurant at 1314 S. Foothill Drive around 7:30 p.m. and demanded money.

Lt. Carl Merino, Salt Lake City Police Department, said the man used a gun to carry out the robbery.

“Put a lot of fear in the people when he brought the gun out,” Merino said. ”He came in quickly and produced a gun and put quite a bit of fear into the people.”

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries.

Police described the suspect as a white male with a medium build who is about 6 feet 2 inches tall.
