PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A Rhode Island TV station says a woman threw a rock and waved a baseball bat at them before urging her dogs to attack a news crew reporting on a shooting at a kindergarten graduation party shooting.

WLNE says its cameraman and reporter were on a public street attempting to speak to the mother of the victim after a teenage boy allegedly responsible for the shooting turned himself into police. The victim was shot in the back and is recovering.

Video shows the victim’s mother, Melissa Lawrence, first throwing a rock at the news crew. The rock just missed the photographer’s head, according to WLNE.

The woman then comes out of her home wielding a baseball bat, screaming “Get away from me!” The woman can then be seen directing her two dogs to attack the news crew. In the video, the dogs are shown biting reporter Abbey Niezgoda on her forearm. Niezgoda received a tetanus shot.

The news crew filed a police report and police are in the process of putting together a warrant for the woman’s arrest.

“They were never on the woman’s property and were attacked right on the street,” WLNE posted on its website.
