Man brandishes weapon, steals game system from family

SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City Police say a man showed a weapon and stole a game system from a family trying to sell it.

The suspect met with a man and his children in a parking lot near 1300 S. and West Temple after an arrangement was made through KSL.com for the sale of the game system.

After taking the game system, the suspect then fled southbound on foot down West Temple.

Police gave the following description of the suspect. 

  • white male
  • shaved head with the numbers “801” tattooed on back of scalp
  • several tattoos on back and shoulders

The Salt Lake City Police Department reminds the public to take safety precautions when online transactions move offline.

In addition, they advise against meeting a stranger in an isolated place, especially when cash is involved.
