SALT LAKE CITY – Four people were injured in a car accident on State Route 40 Wednesday.
Utah Highway Patrol officials said a small SUV towing a pop-up camper was traveling westbound on SR 40 near mile post 6 when it began to sway and the driver lost control.
The accident occurred at about 1:22 p.m. The SUV and camper went into the median and rolled. All occupants were wearing seat belts.
A male and his 12-year-old son were in the back seat, and they sustained minor injuries. The two were transported to a Park City hospital.
The older female driver and older male passenger in the front seat were both unconscious for several minutes after the crash. Both were taken to a Salt Lake area hospital via an AirMed helicopter.
The eastbound lanes of SR 40 were closed for about 45 minutes while the helicopter crews landed and retrieved the victims.
