CEDAR CITY, Utah — Two Iron County School District buses were involved in a traffic accident Tuesday.
Officers said the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at a stoplight on State Route 56 in Cedar City.
Police said one bus with no children aboard was stopped at a red light when a second bus carrying 10 children crashed into the back of it. They said the driver of the second bus couldn’t stop in time to avoid hitting the first bus.
Officers said none of the children were seriously injured. One child was transported to the hospital, but was released with very minor injuries.
Officers said the drivers of the buses did not have injuries requiring transport to the hospital, but they are being evaluated according to Iron County School District policy.
