SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Volunteers gathered Thursday to celebrate United Way of Salt Lake's 21st annual Day of Caring.
More than 4,200 volunteers from local companies were expected to help United Way of Salt Lake celebrate service and volunteerism at the Gateway Mall at 400 West and 100 South in Salt Lake City.
The event kicked off with breakfast and live entertainment from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. After breakfast, community service projects were underway until about 5 p.m.
The service projects ranged from landscaping and painting, to reading with kids and hosting a career fair for parents and students.
