LAYTON, Utah — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a woman after picking her up at a bus stop.
Officers said they were notified of the alleged assault on Oct. 12. They said the 39-year-old victim told officers the suspect offered her a ride home from a Layton bus stop.
Police said the woman and the suspect first drove to a local convenience store in Clearfield before driving to a local apartment complex where the suspect made sexual advances on the woman. Officers said as the woman tried to escape the vehicle she was assaulted by the suspect.
The woman managed to escape the vehicle with a few minor injuries. She was later treated and released from a local hospital.
Surveillance video photos have been released of the suspect. He is described as Hispanic, in his late 20’s or 30’s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, and has a shaved head with a receding hairline.
The suspect was seen wearing a blue and gray shirt and driving a silver-colored older model Dodge Durango.
