Unified Police investigate apparent murder-suicide

HOLLADAY, Utah — Unified Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after two people were found dead inside their Holladay home Wednesday night.

Officers said they received a call about a welfare check at a home located at 2647 East Valley View Ave.

When officers arrived, they said they forced entry and found the bodies of Mildred Clayton-Kunz, 78, and Larry Kunz, 79.

Investigators said a gun was located and recovered near Larry’s body. They said they believe Larry shot Mildred before turning the gun on himself.

Police said family members of the couple hadn’t heard from them since the end of October and beginning of November. They said investigators are still trying to determine when the incident may have happened.

Officers said there’s no clear motive, but investigators learned that Larry and Mildred were both suffering from health problems.

FOX 13 will update this story with the latest details as soon as they become available.
