Officials say alcohol a possible factor in death of teen found in creek

MT. PLEASANT, Utah – The body of a young male was found in a creek in Mt. Pleasant Friday, and officials said it appears alcohol was a contributing factor in his death.

According to information from the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office, the 17-year-old male was found near 150 East and 50 North.

The teen appears to have suffered from hypothermia, and officials indicated they believe alcohol was a factor. Officials said the incident remains under investigation, and an autopsy will be performed.

The name of the victim has not been released, but according to information from authorities he is believed to be from the area.
