WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- Four adults and two juveniles who were allegedly involved in a residential burglary ring have been arrested.
West Valley City police said Wednesday the burglary ring has plagued the city for almost a year. They said their investigation linked the suspects to more than 30 residential burglaries since May 2013.
Officers said the suspects would prey on residences during the day, and focused on stealing electronics, jewelry and firearms. They said the suspects would then sell off or trade the stolen items for cash.
The adult suspects have been identified as Brian Josue Calvo-Perdomo, 20, Oscar Santos, 18, Jose Nunez, 20, and Christian Salgado, 27.
Police said in December they received a report about several unknown people inside a home during daytime hours. When police arrived, they were able to arrest an adult male and a juvenile male in the commission of a burglary.
Since that arrest, detectives connected the same two suspects, along with several other suspects, to other residential burglaries in West Valley City.
Some of the stolen property was recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
Officers said they now expect to see a significant decrease in the number of West Valley City residential burglaries.
