OLYMPIA, Wash. — A Washington physician’s medical license has been suspended after he allegedly exchanged sexually explicit text messages during surgeries at Swedish Medical Center, among other accusations.

“According to the charges, [Arthur K.] Zilberstein frequently exchanged sexually explicit texts during surgeries when he was the responsible anesthesiologist; improperly accessed medical-record imaging for sexual gratification; and had sexual encounters at his workplace,” a statement from the Washington State Dept. of Health said.

Zilberstein is also accused of issuing at least 29 unauthorized prescriptions without properly evaluating those patients.
