Man shot in back during Magna house party, police say

MAGNA, Utah — A 22-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the back at a Magna home, according to Unified Police early Saturday morning.

At approximately 1:35 a.m., police responded to a shots fired call at the residence, located in the area of 3000 South and 7750 West. Police say there was a house party going on when the victim was discovered shot twice in the back.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police say several people were interviewed but no one was taken into custody. A suspect has been identified at this point.

Police say they aren’t sure if this was a random attack or not.

The name of the victim has not been released at this time.
