WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- West Valley City Police are seeking two men who fired shots at a Kmart during a shoplifting incident Friday afternoon, officials say.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., the loss prevention employees at the store, located at 1770 W. 4100 South, attempted to stop the suspects from shoplifting just as they were leaving the business, according to a press release from West Valley City Police.

When confronted by employees, police say the suspects produced handguns and fired two to three shots into the ceiling of the store.

The two men then allegedly ran out of the store and got into a silver/grey Toyota Camry or Corolla with a white license plate. According to police one of the suspects fired another shot as they left the parking lot.

They were last seen traveling west on 4100 South, police say.

The suspects are described as 25-35 years old, Hispanic with medium height and build. One of the men was wearing a grey shirt and jeans and the other a blue shirt and jeans.
