SANDY, Utah – Salt Lake County search and rescue crews were called to assist a man who fell while hiking with several friends in Bell Canyon Saturday.
Officials said the 20-year-old man was climbing on boulders above the river when he lost his footing and fell into the water below.
The group was in what officials called the lower falls area when the man fell. The victim was taken to a hospital via medical helicopter and was reported to be in fair condition.
Officials with the Unified Police Department said the man was alert and talking.
