OREM, Utah — A suspected DUI driver is in custody after crashing into an Orem home, according to police Sunday morning.

Orem Police Lt. Craig Martinez said a DUI driver call came from Pleasant Grove Dispatch. When officers attempted a traffic stop a chase ensued on State Street with speeds reaching 100 mph.

The chase ended when the driver crashed into a home on the 400 East block of 500 South, Martinez said.

Martinez said the crash caused a vehicle in the garage to be pushed into the home. Building inspectors were on scene Sunday morning to determine if the house was structurally sound.Jackson Todd Hansen mugshot
