OREM, Utah — A suspected DUI driver is in custody after crashing into an Orem home, according to police Sunday morning.
Orem Police Lt. Craig Martinez said a DUI driver call came from Pleasant Grove Dispatch. When officers attempted a traffic stop a chase ensued on State Street with speeds reaching 100 mph.
The chase ended when the driver crashed into a home on the 400 East block of 500 South, Martinez said.
Martinez said the crash caused a vehicle in the garage to be pushed into the home. Building inspectors were on scene Sunday morning to determine if the house was structurally sound.
The driver, later identified by authorities as Jackson Todd Hansen, was taken into custody and was booked into the Utah County Jail.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
