SALT LAKE CITY – Human trafficking is an expanding problem in the United States, and a grassroots organization is working with local police officials to help combat the problem of sex trafficking, particularly among child victims.

A campaign spear-headed by Backyard Broadcast is working with the Unified Police Department to educate and train teens as well as law enforcement officers in Utah regarding the dangers that come along with sexual exploitation.

Police officials said sometimes officers don't always recognize the signs that someone is involved in sexual exploitation, and they said efforts like this help correct that issue.

Backyard Broadcast is a national organization that visits schools to educate people about sexual exploitation, and the group has a chapter at Cottonwood High School and is starting another at Utah Valley University.
