SANDY, Utah -- Search and rescue crews responded to Little Cottonwood Canyon Friday morning to recover the body of a 19-year-old man who fell.
Officials later identified the man as Joshua Linares of West Jordan.
A spokesman for the Unified Police Department confirmed the incident occurred in the Lisa Falls area, a few miles east of the mouth of the canyon.
The man had told family members he would be home around 4:30 Thursday afternoon and was reported missing after he failed to do so.
A search and rescue operation was launched Thursday evening, but was called off after sundown.
The victim has not been identified.
