SALT LAKE CITY — Prosecutors have filed a new charge against former Utah Attorney General John Swallow.
On Thursday, the Salt Lake County District Attorney filed a second-degree felony charge of accepting a gift. He previously faced a similar charge.

Swallow and former Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff face criminal charges in a long-running corruption investigation. The two are accused of soliciting donations and assistance from people facing investigation by the Utah Attorney General’s Office.
A charge of racketeering was recently dropped against Shurtleff.
Both men have maintained their innocence. Recently, the Salt Lake and Davis county attorneys agreed to separate their cases.
