Utes top Buffaloes 38-34, finish season 8-4

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah Utes finished out their regular season with a win over the Colorado Buffaloes Saturday afternoon.

The number 25 Utes (8-4, 5-4 Pac-12), won 38-34 in a back and forth game over the Buffaloes (2-10, 0-9 Pac-12).

Travis Wilson threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns, two to Kaelin Clay and one to Westlee Tonga. Devontae Booker ran for 95 yards on 25 carries and one touchdown.

Andy Phillips missed a PAT in the first quarter, but kicked two field goals and made two more PATs. Tom Hackett kicked four punts for an average of 55.8 yards.

Colorado’s Sefo Liufau threw for 317 yards, one touchdown to Nelson Spruce and one interception. RB Christian Powell added three touchdowns. Kicker Will Oliver went 2/2 FGs and made 4/4 PATs.

The Utes, who finish fifth in the Pac-12 South, will now wait to find out where they’ll play their first bowl game in three seasons.
