SALT LAKE CITY — Another winter storm is on the way and the Utah Department of Transportation is warning drivers to be prepared for icy conditions.
UDOT’s main concern is for returning holiday travelers and those who will be commuting on Monday morning.
Drivers are urged to leave earlier than usual to allow extra time and, if possible, wait until the storm has passed before heading out on the roads.
“We’re just asking to be patient. Give our plows enough room to do their work and not pass them or cut through them. If you happen to see them in tandem formation, just wait for them. They’ll be off the freeway in no time,” said UDOT spokesman Adan Carillo.
UDOT also recommends using snow tires and keeping tire chains handy in case they’re needed.
