SPANISH FORK CANYON, Utah — Utah Highway Patrol has identified a man killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in Spanish Fork Canyon Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., Erik Mack, 19, of Mapleton, was driving with a passenger in a Honda SUV on US Highway 6 when the accident occurred at mile marker 182. A semi truck carrying coal and another passenger car were involved. It is still unknown how the collision occurred.
The passenger from Mack’s vehicle was flown to an area hospital in serious condition.
Lanes in both were directions were closed for a couple of hours. UHP has since opened westbound lanes to traffic.
UHP expects all lanes to be open at about 10 p.m.
