OGDEN, Utah — One male suspect is in custody after a nearly two-hour standoff in Ogden that closed roads and temporarily displaced area residents Wednesday afternoon.
The incident started at about 5:35 p.m. when Ogden police responded to a domestic incident. The man involved has an active warrant and is a parole fugitive, according to Ogden police tweets.
“The male refused to cooperate further and SWAT is on scene and attempting to make contact,” an Ogden police tweet indicated.
Forty people were evacuated from the area of 770 E. 15th Street. The Utah Red Cross had set up a reception area at an LDS Church for the residents evacuated.
The Red Cross is standing down since the situation is now under control, according to a Red Cross tweet.
