Paraglider expected to survive after crashing into mountain in Lehi

LEHI, Utah – A paraglider is recovering in the hospital after crashing into the mountain in Utah County.

Emergency crews were called to the Flight Park area east of Point of the Mountain at about 10 a.m. Thursday.

Officials said the 40-year-old paraglider, George West of Anchorage, Alaska, was flown to the hospital but does not have life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said West was up about 60 feet when he fell.

Officials said he lost consciousness for a short time and has back and face injuries.

He is expected to survive.
