SARASOTA, Fla. — A Florida man apparently fell asleep after breaking into a home over the weekend.
Timothy Bontrager, 29, has been charged with felony burglary of an occupied dwelling after breaking into the home and falling asleep on the couch, according to WTSP.
The homeowner told police she woke up around 7:20 a.m. and found Bontrager sleeping on her couch.
When she asked him what he was doing in her house, he apologized.
When the victim called police, Bontrager left the home.
The victim noticed her wallet, driver’s license, credit cards and personal checks made out to Bontrager were missing.
Authorities found the suspect walking along a nearby road.
Officers arrested him and took him to the Sarasota County Jail without incident.
