4 arrested after police chase through Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY – From shots fired to a police chase, officers have several suspects behind bars Friday.

Police were finally able to stop a white Mazda and now have four people in custody, two adults and two juveniles.

Authorities said they were called about gunshots in a neighborhood near Mead Ave. and 1700 S. at about 9:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they saw a white Mazda speeding from the area and said they believed the suspects in the car were involved in the gunfire.

Gun in SLC police chase, crash

Officials said the suspects tossed a gun from the car as they drove westbound on 1700 S.

A short time later the suspects crashed the car into a fence near 1000 W. and 1700 S. and police took two adults into custody.

Authorities said they found two other juvenile suspects hiding in trash cans near 1700 S. and W. Temple.

Police said no one was injured and they are investigating why shots were fired in the first place.
