HERRIMAN, Utah — Vandals made a mess of the Herriman skate park, leading the city to close it for the day Thursday.
Park crews discovered the damage during their regular morning walk-through Thursday, and they found trash emptied out from cans and scattered all over the park.
Several hamburgers were also smashed into picnic tables and on bathroom walls.
Tami Moody, Herriman City Spokeswoman, said this is not the first time the park has been vandalized.
“It seems like about once a month we tend to either have garbage issues or vandalism in regards to spray painting or items being broken,” Moody said.
The skate park has been closed for the day while crews work on clean-up and maintenance. City officials said they are considering installing security cameras at the location.
