Several police agencies chased a stolen car early Friday morning. Police spiked the truck's tires, but the truck kept driving.  Several blocks later, two men jumped out and began running.

Officers called out k-9 units and managed to catch one of the men, but the other got away. Unified police, West Valley, Salt Lake City and the Metro- Gang Task Force all assisted in the chase.

The chase began around three a.m. Friday when an officer noticed a stolen truck, that officer tailed the truck for several blocks after calling for backup. The chase began near 45th south and 40th west in  West Valley City.

Police searched the truck and found a pellet gun, but no other weapons.

"When they located the pellet gun initially they believed it was an actual firearm and obviously we're always quite cautious with occupants of stolen vehicles are often armed with firearms," said Sgt. Steven Katz  of West Valley City police.

Police are still looking for that second suspect, he's described as a Polynesian man in his late teens to mid 20's, about five foot eight.

If you have any information, you can contact West Valley City police.
