SANTAQUIN, Utah — A fire burning near the mouth of Santaquin Canyon is 100 percent contained as of Saturday, and officials said the fire burned about 450 acres.
Fire crews had estimated containment on the fire as early as Thursday, but they weren’t able to contain the fire until late Friday night. Even though the fire started in the vicinity of some homes, crews were able to keep the blaze moving away from residences.
The fire began earlier in the week.
