SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah confirmed cornerback Dominique Hatfield has been reinstated.
Coach Kyle Whittingham said Hatfield will play as soon as he is ready but didn’t give a timetable.
Officials said Hatfield could play as soon as this week but he could be a few weeks away from hitting the field.
Hatfield was dismissed from the team in July after he was charged with aggravated robbery.
Those first-degree felony charges were later dismissed but Hatfield still faces a misdemeanor assault charge from a different case stemming from a fight at a party on July 5.
The University of Utah has decided to allow Hatfield to remain as a student and he is now back with the team.
Hatfield is expected in court Sept. 21.
