WASHINGTON — Multiple news agencies report the White House was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon due to the discovery of a suspicious package.
According to International Business Times, the package was found at Lafayette Park.
President Obama was said to be away from the White House at the time.
ABC News’ John Parkinson reported the Secret Service declared the package safe and nearby streets are reopening.
