SALT LAKE CITY — One person suffered serious wounds but is expected to recover after shots were fired at a party in Salt Lake City early Saturday morning.
According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, the incident occurred just after 1 a.m. Saturday in the area of 850 South and 1440 West.
Police said during the course of that party one man was shot in the arm. It was not clear what sparked the shooting
“From what we can see, it looks like he was shot out here between the street and the curb there…. there is a bit of a blood trail leading away from that,” said Lt. Andy Obled of Salt Lake City Police Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but police said the man is expected to recover.
Obled said the man is in “serious condition, but he’s doing fine.”
Authorities are working to identify a suspect in the case, and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Salt Lake City Police Department. Obled said while there were several people who heard gunshots, they have few witnesses who have come forward who actually saw what happened.
