SPRING, Texas — A Texas man dying from a rare form of brain cancer had one last wish: to watch Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens before he dies.

The wish went viral and several of the film’s stars, including Harrison Ford, John Boyega and Peter Mayhew lent their support to the cause.

According to a Facebook post by his wife, Daniel Fleetwood’s wish was granted Thursday.

“To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true!,” Ashley Fleetwood wrote in a Facebook post.

Back in July, Daniel Fleetwood’s oncologist gave him only two months to live from a rare form of connective tissue cancer called spindle cell sarcoma.

Daniel has been in hospice care at home, spending as much time as possible with Ashley.

Ashley said “The Force Awakens” director J.J. Abrams called them Wednesday and told them Daniel’s wish would be granted. Her post said the film was screened at their home.

“The Force Awakens” is scheduled for release on December 18.
