SALT LAKE CITY — A crash near the mouth of Parleys Canyon tied up traffic and left several people in critical condition Tuesday evening.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation, the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-215 E near 3300 S.
A representative for the Utah Highway Patrol said a driver coming out of Parleys Canyon made a wrong turn and drove into oncoming traffic on I-215E, causing a head-on collision.
The UHP representative said the driver was impaired by drugs or alcohol and will be cited with a DUI.
Officials do not have additional details on the injured parties yet.
