PROVO, Utah — A few days after Navy Head Coach Ken Niumatalolo traveled to Brigham Young University to meet with school officials about the possibility of him filling the head coaching spot vacated by Bronco Mendenhall, the Navy coach has reportedly decided to remain with the Midshipmen.
The Washington Post reports Niumatalolo announced Wednesday he would be staying with Navy despite his recent interview at BYU.
With Niumatalolo out of the running, many believe the Cougar’s next most likely prospect is Kalani Sitake, a former BYU player who currently serves as the defensive coordinator for Oregon State University.
