Youth church provides holiday dinner, gifts for Utah foster children

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY -- Eleven foster children had a really nice Christmas dinner Tuesday night thanks to a youth church group from Sandy.

The children enjoyed their holiday meal at the Crimson View restaurant on the University of Utah campus. Dining services volunteered to host the dinner.

Members of Alta View Church raised money to buy gifts for the kids.

Organizers of the event say they get as much out of it as the children do.

"It's really not about all the presents. It's more about just the really true meaning of Christmas,” said Braydon Todd, member of Alta View Church. “I know that that sounds a little cliché but I really do find that the true meaning is more than just giving them gifts."
