Twitter is building a new feature that will allow users to tweet longer than the traditional 140-character limit, according to a report from Re/code.

The company is reportedly considering a 10,000-character limit, which matches its Direct Messages product.

If implemented, it’s likely tweets over the normal 140 characters will have a “view more” or similar link that allow users to read the whole tweet. However, exact implementation of the new feature has not been reported and may not yet be decided.

The company is aiming for a launch during the first three months of 2016, according to the report. Testing is likely over the coming months.
