SALT LAKE CITY — Police have located and spoke to a woman who was considered a person of interest in the  fatal officer-involved shooting in Holladay, officials confirmed Monday evening.

Officer Doug Barney was shot Sunday morning after responding to a traffic accident in the area of 2100 East and 4500 South. Police say Barney was shot by Cory Lee Henderson.

Henderson and a woman were involved in a traffic accident and walking away from the crash when Barney arrived on scene, police say. Henderson fatally shot Barney then the pair fled the area.

Additional officers arrived on scene and a chase ensued with Henderson. Henderson was shot and killed in an exchange of gunfire with police, officials say.

Unified Police Officer Jon Richey was shot three times. He is recovering and is currently in fair condition.

Police were unable to find the woman, identified as the passenger with Henderson in the original accident. Officers searched the area for hours on Sunday but were unable to locate her.

According to tweets from Salt Lake City police, the woman has been interviewed and released. The investigation is ongoing.

Salt Lake City police thanked the media and public for tips and assistance as investigators sought her identity.
