Two hospitalized after crash in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY — Two men were taken to a hospital after a driver suspected of being under the influence ran a red light in Salt Lake City.

The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of 1700 S 900 W.

According to Salt Lake City police, a truck traveling northbound had a green light at the intersection and a westbound truck failed to stop for a red light, striking the northbound truck.

Lt. Dave Cracroft said the crash caused the northbound truck to roll and the driver was trapped inside.

“We fortunately have no serious injuries. They’re both at the hospital just mainly for precaution,” Cracroft said. “Unfortunately, it appears that the driver who was westbound was probably DUI, so we’re processing him for that.”
