SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department and the National Insurance Crime Bureau are teaming up to offer qualifying SLC residents hundreds of anti-theft devices.
The two agencies plan to offer “The Club,” which practically disables a car’s steering wheel, for free to Salt Lake City residents who own one of the following commonly-stolen vehicles:
- Honda vehicles up to 2002
- Subaru vehicles up to 2004
- Nissan vehicles up to 2002
According to a new release, the results of the program will be measured against historical theft records of those vehicles. If the program is successful, it may be expanded to include other makes and model years.
The two agencies have a total of 200 Clubs to give away to SLC residents.
