SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested 18-year-old Jimmy Lopez Wednesday evening in connection with the SR 201 shooting.
The Department of Public Safety’s State Bureau of Investigations took Lopez in for questioning and identified him as the alleged shooter.
An 18-year-old man was critically injured in the shooting, which occurred Tuesday just before 5 p.m. on SR 201 near 3800 West. Police said occupants in two vehicles got into an altercation, during which shots were fired. The incident ultimately ended in a crash.
Lopez was taken into custody near 2723 West and 3500 South in West Valley City.
Lopez is now facing attempted murder charges.
