WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah -- The National Weather Service said an EF-1 tornado touched down in Washington Terrace Thursday, and Utah Gov. Gary Herbert was in the area Friday to assess the damage.
Now, rain continues a day later in Weber County as residents start to pick up the pieces.
The tornado lasted a few minutes and left extensive damage to a Washington Terrace neighborhood.
Washington Terrace City Manager Tom Hanson said residents met at the Ogden Community Center to organize a clean-up plan.
Hanson said the first phase will be to clean the neighborhoods starting with the roadways.
The Weber County Transfer Station is open for residents to drop off green waste.
