FREDERICK, Colo. — A Colorado man has been booked into jail and faces three counts of murder in connection with the disappearance of his pregnant wife and the couple’s two daughters.

KDVR reports Christopher Watts was booked into the Weld County Jail on three charges of first-degree murder and three charges of tampering with physical evidence.

Shanann Watts, 34, and her two daughters—4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste or “Cece”—have been missing since Monday, and the FBI was brought into assist in the case on Wednesday.

Christopher Watts is due in court Thursday afternoon, and police have executed a search warrant at the family home.

Christopher Watts said Tuesday that he didn’t know where his wife and daughters were.

“In my heart, I believe that she is somewhere and I hope that she is safe,” Chris Watts told KDVR Tuesday. “I don’t know what to do right now. I just feel so alone in this house right now. I don’t know where to go from here.”
