Four new deaths, including someone under age 24 in latest COVID-19 numbers

Utah is reporting the death of a person under the age of 24 in Sunday's COVID-19 report from the Department of Health.

New Cases
1,765 new cases have been reported, bringing the statewide total to 104,882.

Testing
7,702 new tests have been performed since Saturday. 1,031,511 people in Utah have now been tested for the virus.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is now 1,490, or approximately 16.6% of those tested.

Hospitalizations
308 people are currently hospitalized in connection to the virus. There have been 5,049 people hospitalized since March.

Deaths
Four new deaths bring the statewide total to 572. The new deaths include:

  • Male, older than 85, Washington County resident, hospitalized
  • Male, between 65-84, Washington County resident, hospitalized
  • Female, between 45-64, Emery County resident, hospitalized
  • Male, between 15-24, hospitalized, no further information provided due to low counts in this age category
