SANDY, Utah — A local elementary school teacher who is retiring after 36 years got the surprise of a lifetime.

Leslie Joyce, who spent 32 years of her career teaching at Sprucewood Elementary in Sandy, is a die-hard fan of the Green Bay Packers — especially retired quarterback Brett Favre.

She was already planning on retiring this year, but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it put a sudden end to her final year of teaching and prevented the family from throwing a big celebration.

So instead, they did what many have been doing for special events: a socially-distant car parade.

But that wasn't all: They managed to get a video message from Favre wishing her a happy retirement. In the message, he tells Joyce how special teachers are to him as his parents were also teachers.

Watch both his message and her reaction in the videos above!
