***UPDATE: Mark Langenbach has been found safe and is doing well, park officials confirmed Friday evening.

Original story:

GARFIELD COUNTY, Utah — Officials at Bryce Canyon National Park have put out an alert for a missing man last seen inside the park Wednesday.

Mark Langenbach shared a plan that he intended to hike the 4-mile loop after parking at the Sheep Creek/Swamp Canyon trailhead. He was expected to arrive at his hotel later in the evening, but Langenbach never returned.

Authorities were able to locate Langenbach's car at the trailhead, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

Langenbach may be wearing tan shorts or denim pants, tan sun hat, glasses, black/green hydration pack and carrying a walking pole.

Anyone with information on Langenbach's location is asked to call the Garfield County Sheriff's Office at 435-676-2678.

Langenbach's disappearance comes just days after a woman missing inside Zion National Park for nearly two weeks was located in relatively good condition.
