CACHE COUNTY, Utah — Several agencies responded to a call Wednesday night involving a car that crashed into a pond in Cache County that left one person dead.
A neighbor initially spotted the car when checking on his livestock. He called for help and used a backhoe to remove the car from the pond.
When first responders arrived at the scene at around 8 pm near 1800 South and 2500 West, they found the vehicle upside down in the water.
Haley Bury, an 18-year-old woman from Wellsville, Utah was found dead in the car. She was the only person in the vehicle.
The family has released the following statement; "It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the tragic loss of our beautiful Haley Nichole Bury, who was killed in a roll-over auto accident yesterday evening in Cache Valley. Haley was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, niece and granddaughter. We express our appreciation for the support of our local law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, friends, and neighbors. Although we will miss her shining light, our strong belief in eternal families gives us great comfort as we grieve Haley’s passing."
Funeral arrangements will be released at a later date.
