WEST JORDAN, Utah — An employee at Copper Hills High School has been removed from her position and placed on leave after she posted a photo of herself in blackface to social media.

The employee, who uses the name Megan Nichole on Instagram, is a daycare assistant at the school.

Megan posted the shot of her in blackface with the caption "No politics. No covid. No negativity. Post a picture of something black from your camera roll. The more random, the better! I'll give you a color for your own page!"

The school, along with the Jordan School District, was informed of the photo from tips sent to officials. Megan was immediately removed from her job as an investigation continues into the picture.

"Copper Hills High School does not tolerate or condone racism in any form." said Sandy Riesgraf, Director of Communications for the district. "Our school stands for respect and inclusion where all are free to learn and work in a safe, welcoming environment."
