ST. ANTHONY, Idaho — Day two of Chad Daybell's preliminary hearing got underway at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Fremont County Courthouse in St. Anthony, Idaho.

Day one began with testimony from a Rexburg, Idaho police detective.

Daybell is facing two felony charges of destruction, alterations or concealment of evidence in the disappearance of Joshua “JJ” Vallow and Tylee Ryan.

Their bodies were found buried in the backyard of Daybell’s Idaho home June 9.

Daybell’s wife, Lori Vallow Daybell is their mother and is facing the same felony counts.

Melanie Gibb of Gilbert, Az. took the stand Tuesday morning for cross-examination.

Gibb said she first met Chad Daybell two to three years ago at a “preparedness camp” in Morgan where Chad Daybell was speaking.

Gibb testified she lied to Gilbert police the first time they asked her if she knew the whereabouts of JJ Vallow.

Gibb: "I told (police) I had him, and then I didn’t have him.”

John Prior, Chad Daybell’s attorney: "So you lied to a police officer, is that correct?"

Gibb: "Correct."
