SANPETE COUNTY, Utah -- One person is dead after colliding head-on with a semitrailer on US-89 Monday morning in Sanpete County.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, just after 11:30 a.m. near Indianola, a northbound car crossed the center line on the highway, which consists of one lane in each direction in the area. The car struck a southbound semi head-on, killing the driver on impact. No other occupants were in the car.
The semi driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
US-89 is closed between US-6 and the Sanpete County line.
