TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — Two people died Sunday morning after a rollover accident that ejected them both in Tooele County.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the pickup truck was southbound on State Route 196 at mile 23 (midway between I-80 and Dugway) around 6 a.m. when it drifted off the road to the left, then swerved back to the right and rolled.
The female driver and male passenger were both ejected and died at the scene. They were not wearing seatbelts, and troopers say drug impairment is being investigated as a factor in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
Their names were not released.
